Holiday Season

Life in San Juan has been pretty relaxed lately. We just finished our second to last team until our winter break, which is hard to believe. I feel like it was just last week we were starting our first fall team. I’ve learned so much since September.

Two weeks ago we hosted a holiday party for all the American missionaries who live in San Juan at the guesthouse. It was fun to have fellowship with them, meet new people, and eat an American style meal. The meal consisted of Turkey, masked potatoes & gravy, mashed yuca, stuffing, cranberries,  cornbread, and pumpkin pie. It was amazing! This past week we celebrated thanksgiving with Ohio Northern University.  Following dinner, the team decorated the guesthouse for Christmas.  They strung lights and decorated the trees while we listened to Christmas music. It was fun to celebrate Thanksgiving with them once again this year. Last year during this time, I was serving here. Who knew that a year later I would be here full time? On Monday we are having our annual SRI staff Christmas party.  It will be fun to be able to have our staff together and not have to worry about working.  Our staff works so hard week in and week out. This ministry would not be possible without them.

During the second week of December, the Solid Rock US staff will be traveling to the north coast of the DR to participate in a retreat together. You can be praying for unity for us as we grow together. I am really looking forward to going.

Here is a photo of our staff that will be getting together on Monday.
